Psychometrists are professionally trained individuals who work within the field of psychological assessments and provide a range of assessment services related to the needs of their clients.
Psychometrists administer, score, interpret, and report on psychological and psychometric measures to assess cognitive, aptitude, behaviours, interests, personality, and values in diverse settings and organizations.
Psychometrists may also contribute to the development of psychological measures.
The purpose of the tests is to obtain a comprehensive picture of specific aptitudes and cognitive aspects necessary for formal education in Grade 1.
The test comprises eight tests briefly described below:
1. Perception: This test measures the beginner’s visual perception. This ability is essential for reading and writing proficiency.
2. Spatial: This test measures the beginner’s spatial orientation and the ability to visualize mentally which are essential primary abilities for general success at school.
3. Reasoning: This test measures concept formation, logical thinking, and the ability to classify. Since comprehension and logical thinking are important aspects of the learning process this predicts success at school.
4. Numerical: This test indicates the beginner’s ability to count and grasp quantities, proportions, and numbers.
5. Gestalt: This test measures various mental processes and the ability to reproduce simple figures correctly.
6. Coordination: The test aims to evaluate the beginners’ motor skills. It provides an indication of the pupil’s maturity and skill in using a pencil and paper, abilities which are essential for writing.
7. Memory: The non-intentional visual memory is tested for successful progress in the early stages of schooling.
8. Verbal: This test measures the beginner’s ability to comprehend what is read to him (understand the meaning of the word in the context of a sentence).

Consists of various scholastic screeners and standardised assessments evaluating a child’s reasoning/thinking abilities and underlying psychological processes, academic achievement, and behavioural functioning.
The goal of the assessment is therefore to identify areas of strength and weaknesses so that these areas can be targeted through intervention or additional support.
In order to qualify for concessions or assessment accommodations learners need to have been assessed and show at least average intellectual ability and a significant long-term learning difficulty which will compromise examination performance.
The aim of the standardised test is to obtain a differential picture of certain cognitive abilities. General intelligence is determined to predict scholastic achievement in addition to a learner's strengths and weaknesses in certain important facets of intelligence to obtain diagnostic and prognostic information. The test consists of verbal and non-verbal scales.

This is a very important decision to make as it ultimately determines the learners' study path or career field. An Aptitude assessment can be a valuable tool in guiding learners into making an informed decision it provides the profile of aptitude and potential.
Choosing subjects for Grade 10 can be a stressful task. A comprehensive subject choice assessment can guide learners to gain insight into their own abilities, potential, personality, and interests that can ultimately assist in selecting the right combination of subjects in order to pursue future studies and career paths of their choice.
A comprehensive career guidance assessment might be a beneficial tool for any individual who is in the process of deciding on a study field or career path. This includes high school learners in Grades 11 & 12, and students or adults wanting to explore a new career field.
We are accredited for a variety of career tests and will choose the one most suited to your needs after the consultation session.
As a registered SGDA professional. I'm able to conduct the only Dyslexia test endorsed by the HPCSA and DBE. The Stark-Griffin Dyslexia Assessment provides insights into the possible presence of several types of Dyslexia that might be impacting academic performance and achievement.
Virtual Services
Virtual clients follow the process below:
1. Contact us via email or WhatsApp. A link will be sent to you to book a virtual consultation.
2. After the consultation a link to book your assessment date(s) and make payment will be sent to your email address provided.
3. You will receive a confirmation and instructional email two working days before the assessment date(s).
4. Complete the assessment online and submit it. Completion takes approximately 3-4 hours. Please note for the comprehensive career guidance assessments you will need two days to complete the assessment battery. More information will be provided in the email.
5. Within 14 working days you will receive a detailed report and findings via email with a link to book your virtual feedback session.
Note: a stable internet connection is required to complete the assessment online. Should you be affected by loadshedding the system will save your completed work to complete later.
Process
For individual clients in Gqeberha (PE), a compulsory consultation session with the parent/s, guardians, or the testee (above 18) is required.
Please contact us via WhatsApp or email. A booking link will be sent to book your compulsory consultation session. We provide consultation sessions virtually or in person.
After the consultation, all information and collateral information obtained will be utilized to formulate a suitable test battery. Booking of assessment dates will be communicated by the practitioner.
